I <3 Allie of Hyperbole and a Half

Like many of you, I've been mourning the loss of new posts over at Hyperbole and a Half while Allie writes her first book. So, I was thrilled when she popped up on Twitter tonight.

Then this happened:

---- about 20 minutes later ----

Aaaand I can die happy now.

Thanks, Allie. You had me at "Tipey."

  3. LOL... "you had me at typey" totally cracked me up. My daughter is writing a book right now and she is struggling with a little writer block - I made her come over to my computer and enjoy this with me. I think we just found her new screen saver :)

  11. I just discovered Allie's blog last night, and just started reading Epbot recently, though I've been a devoted Cakewrecks fan for years. SO, I love "Hyperbole," I love "Epbot," and I love "Cakewrecks". The last couple of days have just been a blog orgy for me! Mwah-hah-hah-hah-hah!

I will always happily accept pseudo-death threats, if they are in Hyperbole and a Half form!

  23. Tipey! I <3 Allie too and have been missing her horribly... I even have her picture of "I'm going to be a champion" from her "Texas" post as my wallpaper...

But mot importantly, this post made me realize I'm not following you on twitter.. I saw Allie's half of the conversation but was missing something! Time to remedy that......

  24. I love the added touch of REDRUM on the wall in the back. Brilliant!

  25. Two of my favorite bloggers in one post.... I think I'm in heaven :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I too, have been missing her posts like CRAZY! I can't remember how I found her blog, but I know that day I didn't get a single thing done because I was compelled to read every single post xD That is beyond awesome that you got her to draw a picture for you!

    ReplyDelete
  27. P.S. I LOVE your flickr link thingy with the pictures that move! (You know my terminology is awesome. *snicker*) I was reading the comments and all of a sudden I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye... so cool! :D

  29. That is fan-fraking-tastic! I'm not a writer, but I do lots of data-entry. Makes me feel like that too. And a dose of Hyperbole thrown in w/ Epbot? Day = made. Thanks for sharing!

  33. OMG!!! You got your own drawing from Allie!!!! How COOL is that?!?!? You ROCK girl!
(and yes, I miss her posts terribly. Thank GOD for Cakewrecks and EPBOT or I would go into withdrawls and have to crawl into a corner and suck my thumb) (not really on the thumb part)

  34. I saw this exchange happen, and was thrilled, since I too was hoping we'd see that in a picture. Good going!

    ReplyDelete
  35. ZOMG. Epicness. I love that her "___ All The Things!" has become a huge meme. Now I want to see one that says "Kill All The Things!"

    ReplyDelete
  36. That is one thing I love about twitter. The chance to interact and joke with people you might never meet in person ('corse you might know Allie for all I know but you get the idea)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I had JUST been on her site yesterday to check if there was anything new. Thanks for posting this here! I miss her, too, and am looking forward to her book.

The first time I visited Hyperbole and a Half, I was sitting in an airport waiting for a plane, bored out of my mine. I went on her site and randomly read the "Sneaky Hate Spiral" and laughed so hard that people moved away from me. I had tears rolling down my face from laughter--always great in a public place, no? People must have thought I was insane.
I still laugh, thinking about that particular post.

Love H&aH and Love Epbot! Thanks!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm trying to write my first book and I totally relate! Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  41. *giggles* That's more or less how I feel when I get a bad case of writer's block... except there's not even any "typey", just a blinking cursor, mocking me. Makes me want to take an axe to it. :P

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hey Jen,

Don't you mean "last night" instead of "tonight"?

And I am with you and everyone else on loving Allie.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thank you for showing us this pic.
While I'm looking forward to buying Allie's book, I still miss her posts.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I read H&1/2 when you linked to it once before...as in, did nothing for most of the day but READ ALL THE THINGS!...but I never subscribed and subsequently forgot about it. (I know, and I'm sorry!)

So now I just went back and read everything I'd missed, and her dog stories are just amAZING. Love the expressions on stupid dog's face.

Anyway, now I'm stuck in Allie mode, and it's kind of fun. So, um, yeah, hope she gets to finish all her tipeying before she gets arrested for threatening you.

    ReplyDelete
  45. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

    That is all.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Awesome. You guys make me proud to be a girl.

  47. Spectacular!

(I miss her posts too, but so it goes; service of a greater [homicidal-er?] good and all that...)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I miss her blog, too.

And I am so buying a copy of her book when it comes out!

Thanks, that was a little piece of goodness in my day.

  51. First someone mentions the Alot on shirt.woot, now a new pic for you. All i need is for her to post and it'll be a hat trick. Or trifecta. Or something that involves threes.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I lurve Allie. And The Bloggess too. Jen, Allie & Blogess - the trifecta of funny!

I watched the Twitter convo unfold, too, that was fun.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love HB&H but I have to read it either in the bathroom or late at night so no one makes sure that I'm chocking or having a seizure.

    ReplyDelete
  54. My life has not been the same without her posts! At least this will tide me over for a day... or two. :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm glad to hear that Allie is writing a book and not suffering from health issues. I wasn't going to comment but then could not resist my word verification of (wait for it)...

Gynetro: (n) condition suffered by women writers that makes them want to rampage around with an axe.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh hooray!

Hyperbole made me laugh until I choked the first day I found it. The post about giving her dog the IQ test was priceless.

Thanks Jen, for a little reminder about the awesomeness that is Allie.

  57. omigosh she needs to sell this pic at her zazzle store. It would make a good greeting card, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The Redrum on the wall in the background is a really nice touch. :)

I love her site. I've read the one about wanting to go to the party after the dentist visit three times and every time it still has me reduced to a teary puddle of laughter.

    ReplyDelete
  59. BWAH HA HA HA!! I totally miss H and a H while she's been book busy as well. Thanks for that little slice of funny. :)

I pee my pants a little every time my mind wanders and thinks of that post. Not because I'm incontinent, mind you, just because I laugh uncontrollably.

  63. I miss Allie too. But I know that when she's back it will be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I love both of your blogs so much. I figured that's why she hasn't been posting anything new (cause of the book). I can not WAIT to get that book. I have asked for the cake wrecks books for two Xmases now. Maybe this year I will get lucky. Or if worse comes to worse, I'll have to pay for all of the books myself. Anyways, I know I am going to enjoy all of them alot ;)

  66. Yay! I love that you two (or 3, or 4, or 5) are friends. This (http://blogs.babble.com/strollerderby/2011/08/07/15-creepiest-weirdest-strangest-dolls-ever-photos/?pid=1241#slideshow) was too wierd not to share, and may work its way into a CW at some point?

  67. I've been adrift in a sea of tears and snack cakes since Allie has been busy with her book. Can't wait to see the finished product!

  71. I had to read this entire post to my husband. And then show him the picture. And because I've read to him EVERY one of her posts, and explained most of the pictures, this made my day. I miss her posts. And I'm really looking forward to le book.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I realize I'm incredibly late to the party, but I remember seeing that Tweet exchange and somehow missed the very first one. So it never made sense until now. While you were my writing inspiration, she was my drawing inspiration. Can't wait for her to finish that book!

wv: pinati Im gonna break open a pinati when that book comes out. "Dale dale dale"
