It's time for my favorite art finds this month!
First up, Leanne Huynh has some stunning - and refreshingly different! - paintings of the Disney princesses:
I love all these rough textures.
Then by contrast, look how soft Mulan's piece is:
So goooood. I love it when artists put their own spin on characters!
Huynh paints plenty of other fandoms and her own original characters, too.
Plus, Huynh has one of the cutest enamel pin sets I've ever seen:
Go browse Huynh's online store to see the rest of her prints and pins (prints start at $10), plus you can follow her on Instagram!
Carlos Fuenmayor has a crazy abstract/surreal fan art style... and I totally dig it:
C'mon. How could you not love this Yoda?
I like Fuenmayor's Star Wars stuff the most, I think:
It helps that these characters are so iconic; you instantly recognize them.
He's also got plenty of Marvel, DC, and other fandoms to choose from, though:
Most 12X16 prints are $25. Go check out Fuenmayor's online shop to see the rest!
Cari Corene of Story of the Door has some dreamy Miyazaki watercolors:
Also her Winter Wolf print caught my eye. It's foiled with silver leaf, so some of the strands of fur shine with a mirror finish when the light catches it, which is super cool:
Even better, most of Cari's prints are also available on these zippered pouches:
I'm a huge fan of artists putting their work on more things (we all have limited wall space, am I right?), so I love these!
Go check out the Story of the Door etsy shop for the rest of Cair's prints and products - and you can also follow her on Instagram.
Edreen Cielos of Paper Beats Rock Studios first caught my eye with - of course - his Overwatch art:
I like his take on Rein and my man Tor especially.
(Why yes, I am still throwing too much of my life at this game, ha.)
After that I found lots more goodies, though:
Yaaaas. This color palette is fantastic!
And check out all the movement and layering in this one:
I also like his classic video game founders pack:
Art sets make me happy.
Most prints are between $7 and $10, plus Edreen has some great stickers - like more of the Overwatch characters:
Go see the rest in the Paper Beats Rock online shop.
And finally, let me apologize now for this next set of art I'm about to show you, because - and I'm so VERY sorry about this - it's not available for sale. [sob]
Oh. Em. SQUEE.
Yee Chong, aka Art_Of_Silverfox, apparently only does commercial work, but she also shares the CUTEST animal art on Instagram. So at least we have that, right?
And you guys, LOOK:
Black Panther kitty!
True to her IG name, Yee mostly draws foxes:
This one broke my brain:
IS THIS REAL LIFE?! (No, no it's not.) (But I can't look away!)
As our own two kitties keep chewing through cords over here - but remain too stinking adorable to get mad at - I'm relating hard core to this one.
And last one, Yee's newest from just a few days ago:
I want to snuggle her!
Go follow Art_of_Foxes on Instagram immediately for the full dose of cute overload.
I hope you guys enjoyed, and found some new artists to follow!
Now, let's give away some art.
"Baymax" by Kate Carleton, 8X10 print
"Ariel's Headphones" by Bianca Roman-Stumpff, 4X6 print mounted on 5X7 board.
UPDATE: The give-away has ended!
The winner of the Ariel print is Lindsay B.
The winner of the Baymax print is K-
