Well, The Cat's Out Of The Bag...

If you follow my Instagram Stories then you probably noticed there is another new kitten in the Yates household this past week. She's been running us ragged, and introducing her to Eva is taking longer than we'd hoped, but dang if she isn't the cutest thing ever:

She's another rescue mix, nothing pure bred, but as you can see, I DO have a type. She's even prettier than Lily was as a kitten, and we expect her to be an enormous floof ball when she's older, since the vet claims she's a little big for her age. For now she's pure wispy cotton strands, which are so thin she looks pink in certain light from her skin showing through.

The first time she fell asleep in my arms:

She's not as snuggly as Eva, so this was a big deal to me. :)

It's been astounding comparing their two personalities, as this new one is incredibly gentle and social compared to Eva's skittish wildness at her age. She's a chewer, a jumper, and completely fearless - except for being alone, which sends her into the most impressively loud yowling I've ever heard. (She's woken me from a sound sleep from across the house, through two closed doors, and over multiple room fans. Kitten's got LUNGS.) She came from a house that was full of animals; cats and dogs and birds, so she's used to lots of companions and lots of noise.

Her back legs are a little too long for her size, so she runs funny - literally. From behind it's like she's wearing high heels, and her butt bounces around in a most entertaining matter. (I'm trying to get this on video, I promise.) She's also a bit wall-eyed and easily distracted by ceiling fans, so overall she has a delightfully dopey air to her.

Having two small kittens in the house - who can't be left alone together, but who squall bloody murder if one of US isn't in the room with them - is keeping us on our toes. I've actually slept the last few nights with New Kitten on my pillow, an entirely new experience for me, because she screams so loud otherwise that NO ONE can sleep.

My favorite picture of her so far. Ha!

Meanwhile John, who's been down with a bad cold, has been sleeping on the couch with Eva. We're a divided family, you guys. I don't like it!

We are making some progress introducing them, though:

This metal screen let them sniff and bat at each other safely - until New Kitten went full gladiator and started scaling it in 2 seconds flat. (Somehow Eva, twice her size, has yet to figure out she can jump over it.)

Fortunately Eva is pretty gentle - despite her urge to chase and pounce on everything that moves - but she's still bigger and stronger, so we're taking it slow. New Kitten is ready to take her on, though, and eagerly runs at Eva every given chance, ha.

At first John was on New Kitten's side in all things, going full Papa Bear in "protecting" her from Eva - but then she started tackling Eva! So we're still keeping them separated, only now it's for both their sakes. :D

Eva, meanwhile, has snuggled her warm little nose into my heart and can pretty much do no wrong.  (I type this with her sleeping on my chest, propped up and purring. Oh, my heart.)

Fingers crossed New Kitten turns out this sweet.

Of course the really hard part in all this is choosing another name (noooo!), since I'm sure you've noticed she's still "New Kitten." So please, lay your suggestions on me! This time I'm not concerned with it having a deep meaning or anything; we just want something fun and maybe fantasy-inspired, like Arwen or Fizzgig or Pippin or Moxie. (All suggestions I've made so far, but nothing's clicked yet.) So... whaddaya got?

And for a little more inspiration, here are 2 minutes of pure Kitten cuteness, enjoy:

I'm so glad you have kittens in your life. There's nothing like loving pet to get you through hard times.

By the way, reading about your cats made me adopt a stray. I've had Lucy for 8 months now. I don't know why, but it takes forever to find fitting cat names!

  2. OH YAY!! More kittenness for us to share!! She's adorable.
The lighter coloration instantly brought the name "Luna" to mind. :)

    1. That's what I thought too. Luna.

      Delete
    2. Me three--the lighter coloring, fierce bravery, and cleverness (figuring out how to scale the metal grate) all have me thinking of Luna.

    3. Great idea! Thanks so much Jen, for sharing the kitteny goodness with us!

    4. I was coming here to say Luna also!

      Delete
    5. My Luna definitely approves of more cats named Luna!

      Delete
  3. You could name her Eowyn maybe? Fearless and ready to tackle things much bigger than her! Sounds right to me!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Eowyn was the name of our cat, until we figured out "she" was in fact a "he." Promptly changed his name to Eomer. :)

  4. Bree. I think it is adorable for a little girl kitten!

    ReplyDelete
  5. She is so cute. I think it would be super funny to name her Stay Puft. 😂

    ReplyDelete
  6. Luna popped into my mind, too! Especially when Jen was describing her personality.

    ReplyDelete

    1. She's pale and sweet and blonde with blue eyes. Luna would be perfect for her.

  7. that's funny, because one of my girls is Moxie :D It suits her well, she's prone to being a drama queen. The white hair and blue eyes makes me think of Duchess and Marie from Aristo cats!

    ReplyDelete
  8. She looks like a Luna to me. A little goofy, runs funny... Luna was the first name I thought of when I saw her photo.

But I'm sure whatever you come up with will suit her perfectly. <3

    ReplyDelete
  9. Eartha would be cute - with her fur being kind of ethereal and also as a nod to Eartha Kitt.

  10. As this is New Kitten, how about Nova?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I like Wallie, but it’s just because Eva reminds me of Eve in Wall-E. But Luna is nice especially since she’s so bright.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Navi (Like Legend of Zelda), Mimsy, Sorcha (Like from the movie Willow, I'm not sure how to spell it), Kairi or Namine, Chihiro, those are just some I thought of that might be cute! Congrats on the new addition! :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think something like Pixel, Pixie or Skye (for those EYES!).

    ReplyDelete
  14. How about Galadriel, Gal or Gally for short?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Nenya is Galadriels ring otherwise I kind of like Luna

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Plus "nya" means "meow" in Japanese and I always found it a super cute name for a cat. Or a cat person.

      Delete
  16. OMG! The cuteness! Add me to the Luna bandwagon.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Please don't name her Luna-I swear roughly 85% of all new cats and dogs are named Luna. Galadriel is very pretty. I'm still partial to Rey, Minnie, Molly, Amelie, or my pick for my next cat: Cat Stevens (maybe call her Stevie? Especially since she "sings.")

    ReplyDelete
  18. Squueeee!!!So Cute! I think the name Opal would be fitting with her coloring.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What about Opal? When you look at an opal in different lights they show different colors.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sounds like Stormy or Cloudy would be a good fit hehe. Luna's also a great name, as multiple posters have suggest.

    ReplyDelete
  21. When I saw the pictures of her I instantly thought you would name her Stay Puft, (Maybe call her Stacy?) But I think she could also be a Katara, or maybe Merida? (Loud and poofy)

    ReplyDelete
  22. A lovely white cloud of luck and fluff? Seems like a Falcor to me. Your own luck dragon!

    ReplyDelete
  23. PK aka Pretty Kitty, that was my siamese.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Clementine & Evangeline sound good together :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Falcor? Hedwig? Sarah? Belle?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Since it looks like she's wearing heels when she runs, why not name her after a famous shoe designer, something like Loubou or Jimmy Choo?

    ReplyDelete
  27. How about Pilot? Like she’s your co-pilot:) I always thought it would be a good name for a kitty.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Have you ever read the Trixie and Evangeline mystery series? Could make a great pair. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Seconding Navi since she's so talkative. Luna is adorable too. We have a part Siamese cat who talks constantly. He couldn't be alone either, and now he lives in the boys room. The house was too much space and he got destructive. Now he's happy with his bedroom space.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Nimbus, Blizzard, Misty, Snowflake (yes, it's cliché, but she's kinda flaky,)Snowcone, Frost, Nebula, Nargal

    ReplyDelete

    1. You beat me to it- totally agree with Nimbus!

  32. Nimbus- it’s means a luminous cloud surrounding a supernatural being. I mean look at that floofy fuzz all over that adorable form! Plus there’s the HP link- she does look fast and like she’d catch a snitch or two. Enjoy your new fuzz ball, whatever you name her!

  33. I think she's got the coloring - and future puffy-ness for Cloudy. Or you could just go with Floof!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Juliet Simone! (To go with Eva... okay, admittedly Center Stage may be insufficiently nerdy... >D)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Marshy, short for marshmallow? Pixie, since she's got magically blue eyes? Lucy because that's who discovered Narnia first in the Pevense family?
    Pinkie Welborne, 17
    Indiana

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's not fantasy based, but I would name her Shou Mei. Or possibly Elsa? Elsa and Eva would be a great combo. (Ada, my 4 year old niece, has discovered Frozen and I have it on the brain. Ada is named for Ada Lovelace!)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I like Luna, marshmallow, Stardust, Twinkle, and Nimbus.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I like the name Esme short for Esmeralda.

    ReplyDelete
  39. She's so cute! As far as names, I think Luna, Nova or Stella would be cute - they're all "celestial" names to match your belle Evangeline. Or keep with the Princess and the Frog theme and do Charlotte, she seems as pretty and funny as Tiana's bestie :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. She looks nothing like, but the long back legs and funny running gait makes me think there's some Manx cat in her blood. Both my boys are at least part Manx, and both are stupidly athletic with hind legs for days, as well as both quite loud and talkative.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Leeloo also had striking colors and was fearless, but was oh-so-vulnerable. She, protect, you. 😉
But I must say, I immediately thought of ying and yang because of their colors. ‘Opposites’ came to mind. I guess I’m literal like that. 😜

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm going to offer up the Aristocats for naming ideas. My long furred lady kitty is Duchess, though it sounds like your New Kitten is more of a Marie!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm voting for the name Guinevere. It not only nods to King Arthur and similar stories, but it literally means "fair one." And Evaline and Guinevere just trip off the tongue together, don't you think? Like Evelyn and Arthur.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Fleur! Gorgeous little siren who can hold her own

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well since eva is named after a star how about Eärendil? It's the name of the star's light that Galadriel gave Frodo in The Fellowship of the Ring.

    ReplyDelete
  46. What about Falcor?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Moon Child- the name of the Childlike Empress in The Neverending Story...

    ReplyDelete
  48. How about Bertie? She looks like she’s got soot on her nose and ears, which makes me think of Bert the chimney sweep from May Poppins. It’s not an elegant name, obviously, but I think it’s cute!

    ReplyDelete
  49. What about Nooki for "NEW KItty"?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I immediately thought of Gurgi, but I think maybe she's too pretty to be a Gurgi. So then that made me think of Eilonwy.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I always go towards god names for my cats and since she is fierce I think Artemis, Phoebe, Selene (or Selena) or Freya

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have Fred and George the Weasley twin ginger kitties. (George is a girl - I wasn't letting gender mess with my names!)

For your little floof, what about Fleur? Eva and Fleur work well together. I also like Coraline, and you can call her Cora.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sapphire, mystical sounding and representing her blue eyes. For something light and whimsical, Lolly(Lollie).

    1. And sorry to post this here, but I asked on your facebook page but never received an answer. I have an Angry Beavers (great cartoon show) Funko. If I want to paint the eyes, what kind of paint is best?

      Delete
    2. Any craft acrylic paint works great on Funkos. Just add a drop of water to thin it out, and use multiple coats to keep the texture smooth. (Sorry I missed your question on FB!)

  54. Stella! (Kitten name) Congratulations on your new kitty!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Aria, since she loves to sing? :)

I’m so happy for you all, that you have the kittens and the kittens have you ❤️

    ReplyDelete
  56. Loud, bouncy, pretty dang adorable? Sounds like Lottie (Charlotte) from the Princess and the Frog to me.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes! Especially with the high heels and floof!
Or to go with a star and/or Harry Potter name: Bellatrix, or Trixie for short. (One guess who got to go to Space Camp last week!)

  57. She's white... she's fearless. Hmmm... There's Ruth, the White Dragon from Anne McCaffrey's series. There's Wascally Wabbit. You can't do Gandalf since that's a man, but what about Galadrial? She was pretty fierce, but her beauty and calm exterior led you to believe otherwise. Luna is not bad, but to me it doesn't fit all the way. I'd have to see her in person to know who she is for sure. Can you come to the Bay Area? ;-) JK

    1. I'd suggest Etcetera. In the musical Cats (forgive me, I'm on an Andrew Lloyd Webber kick), Etcetera is a very energetic cat. Usually she's the one that swings on the trapeze, she screams the highest and longest at the end of Rum Tum Tugger's song, and is very bouncy. Plus with those long legs that New Kitten has it's kind of like human dancer legs. The face coloration on New Kitten with the fluffy fluffs make me think of the makeup and wigs for the dancers in that musical as well.

      Delete
  63. What about Toph? She's a small, feisty fighter. Plus "Eva and Toph" sounds cute!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Pippi?

I'm thinking Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren, a popular kids book about a girl who lives on her own and has all sorts of adventures, not sure if she made it to the US from Europe? She's characterised by having uneven bunches and mismatched socks etc, is fun, a little mischieveous and like Peter Pan, she doesn't want to grow up. Oh and she's superhumanly strong as well so maybe this sounds like your climbing, don't-know'-I'm-actually-still-tiny floofball?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh! Yes, Pippi made it over here, at least in the 70s - I remember her books well from my childhood. I don't know how widely known she was/is here, but I know I liked her.

      Delete
  65. Or maybe Wink? She looks chirpy/lively enough to be a Wink :) (says the person who's seen one video and cannot have pets so take with LARGE pinch of salt)

    ReplyDelete
  66. She is adorable!

I think I'd second the suggestion of Guinevere, with Gwen or Gwennie for short.

But just to list other possibilities...

Wisp? Or maybe Willow, as a pun on "Will-o-wisp"?

Cirrus, for the type of cloud? (or maybe a feminine version, like Cirria?)

    Tribble?

    Temmie? (Thinking of Undertale...)

Wendy? Wanda? (No reason, just names I like)

I'm sure a New Kitten by any other name will be just as sweet, so have fun choosing!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I’d like to cast my vote for Luna

    ReplyDelete
  68. - Flossie - like candy floss / cotton candy
    - Charlotte - (from Princess and the Frog) - the walk you describe reminds me of her
    - Odie - Also princess and the frog - I love that character
    - Niffler
    I'm also a Luna & a Nimbus fan.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Also, congratulations!!! She's adorable! And thanks for the Eva update! I can't get enough!

    ReplyDelete
  70. If not Luna but you still want a moon name, how about Yue?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Awww... So adorable! We just adopted a very similarly colored kitten! They could be sisters! Nymeria has just a bit more coloring on her face and legs than your kitten. As far as names go, the suggestion of Nimbus was cute, and you could call her Nim for short which is just adorable. But I’m also going to give you the list that we came up with that we chose her name from (keep in mind that these are all character names that we like from shows or books we enjoyed, so some are odd): Cosima
    Kira
    Mikasa
    Quinn
    Sansa
    Arya
    Fiona
    Mazel
    Adalia
    Zaidee
    Nymeria

Good luck! And enjoy that furball!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. With those eyes, my first thought was Derpy Hooves from My Little Pony. You could always use her nickname, though: Muffins! (And yes, it has to be plural.) Fluffle Puff would work, too. Fluffle for short?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Sprite (ethereal being, not soda)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Eeeeee! So excited for you!!! Best of luck with introducing the furrballs. I hope they grow to be the best of friends ♥️♥️♥️ Some geeky name ideas: Jinora (Jinny), Toph, Korra, Naga, Opal, Peridot, Lapis, Pearl, Connie, Pumpkin, Mo (from Wall-E), Kiff, Finn, Gummy, Sergeant Tibbs (from 101 Dalmatians 😊), Penny.

Thank you for letting us be part of this family moment! So excited to watch the fuzzlings grow ♥️😊 Thank you for rescuing them!!

    1. Actually, I knew a kitten named Bob, because he always bobbed his head as he ran... he was cutie, and the name fit perfectly. When he got bigger, the family used to joke about owning a "Bobcat".

Not every name fits every cat, but you could probably find a cat for every name if you tried. =-)

  78. I'm gonna have to suggest Ambrosius, as she's white and fluffy like a sheepdog, and brave in battle like Sir Didymus' steed (ignoring when Ambrosius went and hid of course, lol).

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'm on a Pony kick at the moment, so...Celestia? Twilight? Cadence? Or...hee...Derpy. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Celeste! Or Celestina, if you want to Harry Potter it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Dandelion! She looks like a ball of wishing-fluff...

    ReplyDelete
  82. "Lady Amalthea" from The Last Unicorn! :D

    ReplyDelete
  83. Congrats of you new floofy family member :) Of the names mentioned so far I like Mimsy, Nya and Opal. I have a couple suggestions too:

-'Aura' I follow a local feral cat rescue called TinyKittens, and they are currently rehabbing a kitten named Aura who has a cleft palate. She is about 2 months old and she is literally the CUTEST kitten I have ever seen lol

-'Cu' (pronounced 'Q') short for Cumulus, the puffiest of all the clouds :) I worked with a vet who had a dog with this name and I thought it was cute

    ReplyDelete
  84. Lottie, short for Charlotte?
Claire, as in Clair de Lune?
    Piper, because she's got pipes?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Pixie, just because, or maybe Mallow (from marshmallow).

    ReplyDelete
  86. Little Fuzzy - from H. Beam Piper's book.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Mad Eye! The big blue eyes and the white hair plus the bravery and fascination with ceiling fans (constant vigilance!).

    ReplyDelete
  88. She is so stinking cute!! Hmmm...a name...what about Buttercup?

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sounds like she had some Manx in the mix
They have longer back legs and sort of hop like s rabbit. I grew up with one my Aunt called Hoppy. Don't do thay!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I was told when I adopted my dog that animals respond better with names that have that sounding 'e' or 'a' at the end; Bella, Ella, Nova, Sophie, Chole,..you get it. Not sure if it's true but as soon as my adopted dog jumped in the car, my friend looked at her and said "Hello Zoe" and she turned right to her. ;o) Best of luck with the name finding. Very sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Ariadne (the Borrowers) or Marcella (Raggedy Ann)... those would have been my daughters' names. Pretty, feminine, and adventurous.

    ReplyDelete
  92. How about Mally, from MarshMALLOW?

Otherwise, Lotte, to keep with the princess and the frog theme. She's sweet and slightly silly like Lotte!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I love both Luna and Nimbus. Fits your celestial theme with Evangeline. There's also Artemis or Selene, goddess of the moon. Or Io, who was turned into a white cow by Zeus and has always been associated with the moon. (Plus the moon of Jupiter named after her is the most volcanic in the solar system -- suits her personality!)

Yzma is my favorite. She's sassy and attacky yet a cute widdle fluffy kitty.

  94. First CONGRATS on Kitten #2. Given her lungs, perhaps an Opera Name like Beverly Sills will work. You might try a radio on low volume in the room she sleeps in most as a way to get some shut-eye. And when introducing the Girls - go slow. Give each a spot to claim as THEIR OWN. They will figure out the pecking order. You might try this name, Miss Sprite. Our girl Maine Coon lands as lightly as a feather but can yell like Pavarotti on stage...when miles away...but I still love her.

Oh - Firefly! Because she is "damaging your calm"

  95. She looks like she could have bit of Siamese in her. Maybe call her Siam?
We've had cats named Stinky (he poo'd in the car on the way home after we adopted him), Jazzmynn (my dad taught her how to shake hands/paws & she would fetch), Simmy (a stray that adopted my parents), and Squeeks (she showed up at my work and would squeek when talking to you. We kept her at work until my boss found a home for her with his parents).

  96. We have an 11-month old kitten who looks just like your new kitten. I did a little research and found that the kitten's coloring is called a Lynx Point Tabby. (Some say Lynx Point Siamese, but she's more tabby than Siamese. You can always tell a tabby by the distinctive M on their forehead.) Our kitten is still very tiny—she had a rough start in life, but has made such an impact on our family, human and feline alike. Perhaps you might call her Lynx?

    ReplyDelete
  100. Name her Asterisk! It sounds like a fantasy name but isn't... quite...

    ReplyDelete
  101. Luna is a cute name, but with your description of her amusing running and getting distracted by ceiling fans, the name Derpy from MLP came to mind. :) New Kitten sure is a pretty little thing!

    ReplyDelete
  102. She looks like a Calliope to me. Plus, they're noisy, and so is she.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Are her eyes just blue, or is there a bit of lavender in there? Periwinkle, Peri for short.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I think you should call her Willow--for will-o'-the-wisp. :) Since her fur is so wispy, and she's so goofy and flighty.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Congrats on the new members to the family. I love the names Calliope and Falcor. Or LeO for Leia Organa. There are a lot of wonderful suggestions on this list.

    ReplyDelete
  106. How about Marie?
When reading about their fights I just had to think of Marie from Aristocats!
"Ladies do not start fights, but they can finish them!"
and it's a french name -> Great combo to Evangeline :D

  107. Dalila, Daisy, or Shasta

    ReplyDelete
  108. I like Luna but you said you wanted something fantasy oriented so I translated moon into some fantasy languages for your consideration.
    Jalan - dothraki
    Ithil - sindarin
    Isil - quenya
    Ton - cheunh
    Ni'suum'ika - Mandarlian
    Hura - valyrian

  110. I've always, always wanted to name twin girls Genevieve and Evangeline. Gen & Eva.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Selkie. It's Irish folklore, a seal that turns into a human. Her seal-point coloring made me think of it!

    ReplyDelete
  112. She looks like Gurgi from the Black Cauldron, but that might be too masculine of a name. How does she feel about munchies and crunchies?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Lolly! Sweet as a lollipop, with lolcat potential (photogenic and slightly doofy) too.

(You do realize that you now have the early archetypal Lolcats: Basement Cat and Ceiling Cat, yes?)

    ReplyDelete
  114. The etherial white hair and big blue eye put me in mind of Kida from Atlantis. If Kida and Eva are too similar for your liking, you could abbreviate the other end of Kidagakash and call her Kashi.

  115. If kitty #1 is Eva, how about Zsa-Zsa?

  116. My first thought is Dandelion because she’s so floofy. Dandy for short, maybe.

Artemis next. Goes with Eve, IMO, as they are both celestial.

  117. Stella? It means "star" and Evangeline was a star, and this one could be another little star

  118. First name that came to my mind was "Minx".

  119. Luna appeals to me as well - and the combination of the two cat names is the title of a novel by Isabel Allende: Eva Luna. I haven't read the novel, so I have no idea of the associations that might come up with the names...

  120. Luna is what comes to my mind for this lovey. Congrats!

  121. I see her like a fluffy cloud: Nimbus, Cirrus. Cirrus are the wispy ones like her wispy fur.

  122. Looks like a Ragdoll to me! We have two....

She won't stay that light in color. Full coloration takes a couple of years.

  123. Mythrael (pronounced Myth-ral) used to be a lovely silver colour paint that my Son used to paint miniature figures. I think it might suit your new kitty.

  124. Falcor (Cora for short) because she is both white and pink and fearless and lucky and can fly? Or Lumos (Lumi) because she is light to Eva's Nox? Congrats on a perfect, funny, sweet (demanding) addition to the Yates kitty family!!!

  125. I was thinking Iskierka (Izzy), after the very precocious and headstrong dragon from Naomi Novik's Temeraire series. She's adorable!

  126. Adorable! I don't have any name suggestions (fortunately my dog came pre-named at the shelter), but I did want to suggest Feliway (feline pheromone spray/ plug in) to help with introducing the kitties. It's a "happy cat" pheromone that can really help some kitties be less stressed out meeting each other :)

  127. Welcome to the Epbot family little one!

  128. I vote Fizzgig. My Fizzy passed away about a year ago from sudden pancreatitis. But come on tiny ball of floof who screams when she thinks she's being left behind? That's Fizzgig all the way.

  129. Alba means white, so that might work.

  130. I lost my long haired grey witch cat, named Hazel, to stomach cancer two years ago. She was 12 when she went, and I think of her every day.

Much like New Kitten, she was stunning as a baby but trouble through and through, climbing things and being a general terror. Also like New Kitten, she enjoyed hassling my other kitten - a pure black cat I named Merlot. Hazel and Merlot. They were quite the team.

Since you've already got Eva, how about Ella? It's a very light and pretty name that you can "sing" to her as she "sings" to you. And when she's being trouble up to her eye balls, you can refer to her as Hella!

  131. How about Clementine? It goes well with Evangeline and you could sing "Oh My Darlin" to her. My cats both have theme songs :)
It looks like you're doing well with introducing them. I have been reading Jackson Galaxy's book "Total Cat Mojo" and it has a lot of great info on adapting kitties to new surroundings.
    Congratulations on your new floofball!

  132. Has anyone suggested Hernia? You know, from A Midsummer Night's Dream? "Though she be but little, she is fierce!"

    ReplyDelete
  133. I'm going to suggest Luna too, since you have Eva, as it's the name of a book in the magical realism genre by the same author who gave us The House of the Spirits, Isabell Allende. She's super cute!

  134. I admit, I didn't read through all the comments, so someone may have already suggested it... or I may be too late on the name suggestion train, if you've already chosen... but she looks like she has a bit of Ragdoll in her, so I think Sally would be perfect...

  135. How about Eowyn? She was a fierce fighter, but then dedicated her life to healing others.
