Reader Mary just tipped me off to a hidden gem over on Facebook: Designer Daddy.
Nephi Garcia is the design genius behind the page, where he posts photos of all the amazing Disney costumes he makes for his 3 kids: Lili, Eddy, and baby Leo.
D'aww. Look at the little birds holding up her veil!!
DAT EWOK THO
Here's the whole family together:
The baby is Genie, in a Magic Carpet stroller. LOVE.
Little Lili gets some of the most drool-worthy dresses:

Though Nephi's wife Bethanie also models many of his grown-up Princess dresses:
Another fun pic from his page: Mermaid Cinderella & Aurora!
Elaborate kids' costumes are a fun new trend over at Disneyland, and some of the more frequent flyers - Designer Daddy included - will often team up for group outings/play dates at the park:
I melted at this one.
Follow Designer Daddy on Facebook or Instagram for your weekly allotment of pixie dust, or check out his Etsy shop (where you will want to spend ALL the monies) to order a custom costume for you or your little one!
And if you want MORE Disney cuteness and/or jaw-dropping princess dresses, I also recommend DisneyLovingNurse, GrowingUpOnMainStreet, and DavidForDisney. Those are just a few I already follow on Instagram, though, so if I missed a good one, be sure to let me know in the comments!
Can he be my dad please??? Those are all amazing costumes. *drool* I would love to own a dress like that. Or just to live closer to Disney! :) Some kiddos sure do have the best dress up closets!

ReplyDeleteThe workmanship that goes into making such elaborate costumes is absolutely amazing, but I do feel there are times that the little girl is being over-sexualized.
ReplyDeleteAgree, wedding dress dress-up costumes for little girls make me a little uncomfortable.
DeleteP.S. We have the same name!
I'm her mom and personally I think she just looks like a fun little girl dressing up! What little girl wouldn't want to try on a huge dress? Or put on her mom's wedding dress for fun? Seeing some kind of sexuality in a picture of her shows a mind tainted by society's perversions more than anything else.
DeleteSexualized?! No way! I love the accuracy of the costumes--like the Padme & Regina ones. It's so cute to see them switched to child-sized versions! If she were to be dressed in a Slave Leia costume, I'd be a little concerned. But dressed in various costumes that Disney characters wear? Perfect for little girls! The inner child in me is so jealous!

DeleteThose are jaw dropping! And over on Etsy... his stuff for adults are drool worthy. You could easily get married in those ball gowns!
ReplyDeleteI want to be adopted, lol!! Those are so amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou can't forget little Lane aka ferdalump on instagram! Her mom started making costumes for her and taking her to Disney to help her get over her stranger danger and anxiety. Lane is the cutest little kid and her Jane costume is my absolute favorite!
ReplyDeleteI want to spend all the monies!!!! I might just need to pin his etsy site to my Pinterest...you know for my someday wedding dress (seriously though, a custom gown for 1200? I'd give that some serious thought!)
ReplyDeleteToo bad adults are no longer allowed to wear costumes at Disney... In this case it's an absolute travesty because that Peter Pan gang is everything!
ReplyDeleteI think the only adult in that picture is an actual park cast member, though. The others are all kids. I think it's pretty fair of Disney to reserve the costume thing for kids in general--people can be pretty awful, and you don't want some child getting exposed to Elsa having a meltdown (<--see what I did, there?) or something. The new no-Disney-themed-costumes-even-on-Halloween rule at Disney is ridiculous, though.
DeleteBeautiful outfits. Unfortunately, my practical side is showing. As much as I love the kids' costumes, I would be hard-pressed to pay hundreds of dollars for something that will be outgrown in a few months (not to mention the potential for getting soiled by ice cream, etc.). Now, the adult costumes? They're a whole other ballgame...
ReplyDeleteWow! Talk about talent! I am in awe (mostly because I can barely sew on a button or fix a hem)!!! I think my favorite pictures are the ones with an entire family in coordinated garb. I'll echo the sads regarding the adult costume ban.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing these, Jen.

I appreciate all of the effort he puts into them, but as a professional seamstress, I can see the construction is not on par with the prices he's charging. You can tell at a glance he's self-trained and winging it on technique.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous RE: self-trained. He's background is actually professional couture and his items have impeccable workmanship. Photos can be misleading.
