New Disney Pretties & Prize Winners!

I don't buy much at the parks these days, but I do try to snap pics of anything new that catches my eye. Like this wall of Frozen paintings at Epcot's art store:

Some are just canvas prints of movie stills, but I like that Amy Mebberson one in the top left!

When shopping for Disney jewelry, always check the kids' section. They have the best stuff:

These princess necklaces are  jointed at the neck or waist, so they hang like dangly bobble heads!

 Plus they're only $10!

I resisted the Princess danglies, but I could NOT resist the giant Minnie ice cream cone:

It's layered plexiglass, so it's suuuper shiny.

And speaking of Minnie, there's this new set of Minnie ears out, and, well...

(You look ravishing, dahling, ravishing.)

No, seriously, that's a hat. And there are ears in there... somewhere.

Because Nerdy Baby Donald is my absolute favorite:

I actually bought this keychain on Amazon, since I needed to push an order over the $25 free-shipping minimum. It's about $7 here, if you'd like one.

Another thing I purchased online, since I'm too impatient to wait and get one at the new Haunted Mansion shop in the 'Kingdom:
It's a bat stanchion ice cube tray.

Awww YEAAAAH.

I have plans for this, precious. BEAUTIFUL PLANS.

And finally, I'm not really a pin person, but this was too sweet to pass up:

It's the steampunk Maleficent dragon!

And in case you're not familiar with the parade float it's based on:

See, now I want to go moon over all my parade photos again. [dreamy sigh] Why does it still have to be 90 degrees down here, dangit? I WANNA SEE THIS PARADE AGAIN.

Ahem.

Ok, time to announce jewelry winners!

My two randomly selected winners of the Halloween pendants ARE...

Shiny Happy Von and Elizabeth Campbell

Congrats, you two, and thanks for not both picking the same color. :) (The black pendant goes to Shiny, and the orange to Elizabeth.)

Please e-mail me your mailing addresses, guys, and I'll try to get those in the mail to you ASAP.

  1. Jen, do you think the bat stanchion ice cube tray could be used for making resin molds instead? I'd want it for that or for little bat chocolates! And the sneak peeks of the Haunted Mansion plates and bowls have me drooling - they will be mine!

    1. I'm counting on it, yes! Mine hasn't arrived yet, but since the tray is silicone you can use it for both resin and/or chocolate. (Although once you use it for resin, make sure you never use it for food items again.)

  2. If it makes you feel better, here in Phoenix we're all "It's only 90 degrees today!"

  4. Those princess necklaces are too cute!! And those ears are a bit.. fluffy.. yes lets go with fluffy lol. I'm not much of a pin person either, i fidget with things too much while i wear them, but that Dragon is wicked awesome. I have this thing where I like to put pins on an older messenger bag of mine I got when I was 18. I sometimes take them all of and just have my great bag or I pin it up and I have been looking for great pins to get for it now I want to go see etsy and Disney and places for pins! lol. I am *(was) a Certified Nurses Aid and there was a pin i always wanted that said : How I take your temperature is directly related to how nice you are"

    1. My mom used to be an RN; I'd have loved to get her that pin back then.

I once made a (terrible) plain messenger bag for just that purpose, and covered the whole flap with pins. The surprising snag? That thing was SO HEAVY. Ha!

I'm still kicking around ideas for turning pins into other jewelry (bracelets, necklaces, etc). I suppose you could just knock the post off & drill a hole, but I'd like a more elegant solution. If I ever come up with something decent, you can bet I'll be sharing it!

    2. I've wondered if it would be possible to bend the post around into a loop, creating a threading point for a thin chain or fabric braid, for a necklace. If anyone can make it work, Jen, it's you!

And I'd love it to, because I have a cutie Figment pin that NEEDS to be a necklace, if you know what I mean. :)

  7. If you like the Amy Mebberson painting, check out nna's Elsa: http://nna.deviantart.com/art/I-m-free-417330597 Kind of a similar style.

If you say that's a hat, I guess I'll take your word for it, but... Wow! :P

  8. Oh lame. Just realized my entry didn't publish. Sometimes I don't get a captcha. I need to remember to keep entering posts until I reach this final stage. Why does this happen?

  9. I love the little girl necklaces! Has anyone been able to find those online? I have searched and searched to no avail. Thanks!

  10. Jen, after we met up at Disney two weeks ago, I found those little princess necklaces and bought the Ariel one! I absolutely love it! I highly recommend, especially at the $10 price!

  11. Drat; I posted from my phone and it got lost. For an easy fix to make a necklace from a pin, cut a small piece (the length of the actual pin part), slip your necklace through it, then slip it over the pin & secure it. Cute with ribbon for a choker. I'd think the same trick would probably work for a bracelet as well, or you could glue a bail to it...You can make it the focal of a bib necklace by simply pinning it on.

  13. I was just in Disneyland over the weekend and saw that pink tutu hat! We actually asked one of the hat embroidery guys if anyone has actually purchased one. He said "I've never actually SEEN anyone buy one....but a LOT of people put it on and take pictures." Haha :-)

  14. I am madly in love with the Maleficent dragon in the FoF parade (my friends refer to it as "my" dragon...just a little obsessed!) and I *need* that pin. I don't even think I'd put it on my lanyard...just fawn over it on its own.

  15. Oh. My. Gah. That ice cube tray. I NEED that ice cube tray. We needs it, yes we does, precious. *gollum*

I may or may not have a teeny tiny silicone ice cube tray addiction.

Can you link to where you bought it online? I'm in NJ and can't make it to the park until May. *sad face* I need to feed my addiction!

  16. Cute picks! Wish I would have been able to look for some of these on our recent trip to WDW. But what are you gonna do with two little boys and a hubby with no patience for shopping.
