Flog Me!

I love Felicia Day. Not only is she funny and smart and freaking adorable, she also has major geek cred. In short, she gives us geek girls a good name.

Anyway, Felicia's latest project is a weekly Youtube show called The Flog, and believe me when I say you guys are going to love it. In each 7 - 10 minute episode Felicia shares her favorite links and games from around the 'web, goes out for a "skill set" section to try a new activity (like blacksmithing), and then answers a question from the audience. It's kind of like a TV talk show, only custom made for geek girls!

Told you you're gonna love it.

Anyway, check out the first episode below, and then head over to The Flog's Youtube page to catch up on the rest!

  1. YAY, Felicia wins all the prizes!! The Flog and Tabletop on the Geek & Sundry channel rocks my socks... Wil Wheaton is awesome for so many reasons.

  2. I love Felicia Day! She is a Geek Girl Goddess. ^_^

And so are you Jen. In fact, you have inspired a non-power-tool-wielding housewife and mother of two kids to actually ask for and receive a Dremel 3000 for her birthday! (I was dancing around going "Now I can drill holes in things!" for like ten minutes at Lowes.)

So here's to the awesome Geek Girl Goddesses! And may we all aspire to be like them. ^_^

  3. You should check out the other shows from Geek and Sundry too! My favorite so far: Tabletop. It's going to deplete my bank account, for sure. Only two episodes so far, and I've already bought two games and an expansion.

  6. I too love Felicia Day. My favorite episode so far is the one with the Carrie Fisher violin and piano song - with cool video effects. Looks like she'll be using a chain saw next week! That has me giggling.

There's a nice interview with Felicia in the June issue of Sci-Fi magazine.

  12. OK, so I'm hooked, thanks a lot Jen!! Of course they had to start off with blacksmithing, which is one of my hobbies that I really want to turn into a career one day. As well as baking, art shop owner and coffee shop owner, but I digress...
Anyways, thanks for my new procrastination site! My husband will be so proud!

  13. Have you seen the latest episode of Eureka???? It made me cry. Just in case you haven't I won't tell you why. But You will probably be able to guess. My husband thought I was a serious geek when I told him I loved her.
PS it has a Dragon in it.

  17. I got sucked into The Guild recently when it was suggested to me on Netflix. And I'm not even a MMO player! Then, I saw The Flog mentioned on Twitter and had to check it out.

Needless to say, I'm a total Felicia Day fan now.

  21. Since I'm currently living in England, I didn't think I'd get a chance for a long time to attend my first CON. Then, I found out there'll be a CON in London in just a couple weeks and Felicia Day as well as other Guildies and other awesome sci-fi stars will be there. However, when I looked at the price, I got sad very fast. 90 GBP just for one regular ticket, which is equivalent to about $135 and that doesn't include food or accomodations. Of course, I'd want my husband with me, but it's just WAY too expensive. I guess I'll still have to wait 2 more years to go to a CON, when we move back to the US. =-\
