March Art Roundup: Nouveau Wonder Woman, Supernatural Cuties, & More!

Thanks to last month's Shock Pop Comic-Con, I have lots of fab new art to show you guys!

First up, Tiffany Ciper, aka Hihoshi:

Adventure Time cuteness and a stunning Korra.

Tiffany was retiring this Kingdom Hearts poster print, so of course I had to get one:
It says, "Hearts shine!"

I told myself I was buying it for the give-away board, but now I'm totally keeping it.
 (Sorry/not sorry.)

I also snatched up this Supernatural poster for the board, for obvious reasons:

Moose and Squirrel!

Plus Crowley & Gabriel laughing in the background. :)

(I couldn't find that one ANYWHERE online, so sorry for the crappy cellphone pic.)

From what I can tell Tiffany only sells her fanart at conventions, but you can see the rest of it on DeviantArt. She also has an online store for her original characters' art, if you want to check that out!

Peter Santa-Maria's paintings have a bright graphic edge that make John and I stop and stare every time we see them, and his color palettes especially are just to die for:

I didn't see that Harry Potter print at his booth last time; if I had, we'd have come home with three prints instead of only two!

John bought the Groot up there for his man cave, and I grabbed this Indy for you guys:

And one more, because Wild Things!

Sadly you can only buy most of Peter's work from him directly at conventions, but there are a few prints listed over in his online store.

I also couldn't resist this Karate Kid Pinkie Pie by Sara Richard:

Mostly because I'm such a sucker for Gummi the alligator. :D

(That one's already framed up on my desk.)

Sara paints everything from sci-fi fashion to covers for the new Jem comic, but I always seem to come back to her MLP art:

I just love all the swirly white bits!

You can buy a few original paintings and prints at Sara's website, but it looks like most of her stuff is only available at conventions. You can go drool over all the stuff you can't have at her DeviantArt gallery, though. :)

Warren of Famous After Death does fun t-shirt designs, like this:

Plus 8-bit pixel art, like this:

PLUS monsters and robots and monster robots, like this:

He also sells prints of most of his shirt designs, so I bought this Songbird:

Because you can never have too much Songbird.

See more of Warren's shirts over on TeePublic, or head to his Etsy shop for prints starting at $5!

Speaking of never having enough Songbird, I commissioned Andrew "Drone" Cosson - who still doesn't have a website, grrr - to draw me a Chibi version of the lamb's protector, and LOOKIE:

SQUEE!!

There was much Kermit flailing when I first saw this, lemme tell ya.

A stunning art nouveau Wonder Woman by the always-fabulous Nathan Szerdy:

Since Nathan still doesn't sell online [meaningful glare in Nathan's direction], I bought that one for the give-away board.

(Are you noticing a trend here? Hey, artists! SELL YOUR STUFF ONLINE! Please?)

Selan Pike of Planet Xeeni is another digital artist with a fun fanart style:

 Bee and Puppycat!
(You guys have watched this, right? It's all online, and the first episode is only like 6 minutes long. GO.)

More goodies:

I especially like her original mythology series:

And hey, you can buy Selan's stuff online, too! YAY!! Check out her online store, where all 11X17 poster prints are only $10! Plus you can request commissions through her website for dirt cheap.

I went a little nuts at Chris Butler's booth, buying a total of six prints for the give-away board:

Chris has a really striking monochromatic style, and as we chatted I learned there's a reason for it: he's almost completely colorblind. He can see red, though, so he uses that as an accent in a lot of his pieces:

The rest tends to be in shades of browns and grays:
I can't tell you how much I love that Chris uses his color-blindness to his advantage. So, so cool.
Head over to Chris' Etsy shop for tons of originals - including this Stitch! - which start around $35 each. Or he has lots of prints for just $10 over at StoreEnvy. Woot! GO NUTS.

And finally, Kellee Rily of Kellee Art makes jaw-dropping digital eye candy like this:

And equally stunning ink-and-color commissions like this:

Let's see, a steampunk lass wearing lots of teal and orange with a mechanical seahorse?
I wonder who could have commissioned this.

:D

(ME! IT WAS ME!!!)

The best part? John and I got to watch Kellee do a lot of the work LIVE on the interwebz - and she's uploaded the video to Youtube so you guys can all watch, too!

Kellee's Etsy shop is closed right now for an overhaul, but watch her Facebook page for commission openings, or head over to her DeviantArt to see more of her amazing work. (Plus she'll be at MegaCon next month here in Orlando, for you locals!)

***

Ok, give-away time! And since I want to clear off some of the older stuff from the art give-away board, let's try this: in addition to one winner who can choose *anything* off the board, I'll also pick another FOUR to win these:

So comment below for a chance to win, and if you're interested in any of those four pieces, just list which ones you like in your comment! I'll announce my five randomly selected winners in a few days, and tell you who wins what.

And as always, I'll ship anywhere, so international comments are welcome!

The give-away has ended! Thanks, guys! (Winners announced here.)

My stepdaughter is almost 2 and already weird like her dad and stepmom (the awesome kind of weird, of course) so I would definitely put this in her bedroom.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. *Waves arm about crazily* Pick me! Pick me!

I love the Leia art and the Godzilla in Love from The Four. However, if I could choose anything, I would pick that adorable Stitch print. Along with Robin Hood, Stitch is one of my favorite Disney characters. I made a point to drag my husband to meet Stitch when we went to Disney World (for the first time ever!) in February.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Me, me, me! I love the Leia pic (and so would my daughter!).

    ReplyDelete
  38. Soooo much good stuff!
Oh, if I'm one of the lucky ones I'd love the Leia or the Godzilla :)

    ReplyDelete

  41. Hi! Your giveaway art board is amazing. I would be faced with so many excruciatingly wonderful choices. It would be an awesome task to win and I have to admit, I would really love to win personal choice. The four you have chosen would be great to win, also. I love Jasmine's, then Joe's, Bianca's, and Katie's art in that order. I love how you choose to support artists. Art is a talent that just leaves me speechless. I don't seem to have much talent in that direction, but I am a fervent admirer and I enjoy my role as clapping audience member very much :) Thank you for the opportunity to win art!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh my goodness, so much droolworthy art! Off to check out so many of these artists and I can't wait to show my hubs Chris Butler's art! My hubs is colorblind too (thought not to that extent) and he gets a bit embarrassed about it, so I'm excited to show someone making AMAZING use of it!

As for the giveaway from the board I am loving "Walking Your Octopus" Brian Kesinger - so fantastic. Or the Toothless print from Nathan Szerdy! So amazing! As for the four you posted: top left of the girl with the weasel is so wonderful, and of course Leia! Thanks for the chance to win; I can never get enough art!

    ReplyDelete
  43. The MLP pony prints are my favourite. I have done up my daughter's room in MLP. No apologies. That Godzilla in Love print is adorable.

The Princess Leia print is awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  48. if i could win anything it would be the Set of 2 Wookiee-the-Chew prints by James Hance, both 8X10 and signed (Set B). it would be a pleasure to gift these to a dear friend of mine who would adore them.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Love the Princess Leia from Joe Martin - so cool!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Can you please hang some of these artists up by their heels until they make their art available online? Please? That would solve the drool problem.

I'm picky on my art. Although I think those 4 are cute, they don't fit what I'd like. But there are a couple things on the board I'd love!! Off to look at the stores you posted.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Love the Leia and the Godzilla In Love!

    ReplyDelete
  135. I always love when you do your art round-ups! You have way of looking at things that I think I'm too chicken to appreciate on my own, if that makes sense. My husband and I have loved your sets of Wookie the Chew prints, have you seen the new ones the artist put up on his site? SO SWEET! Which set is our favorite is the subject of much deliberation, but I think we've narrowed it down to Set D, with Set C coming in a close second,

    ReplyDelete
  136. Well, I've tried for toothless the last several months, but went to planet comicon this weekend and bought it for myself!! So now my favorite is the steam punk octopus dance!

I'd prefer to win something else, but I'd totally take that Leia off your hands as well.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I adore the Wonder Woman piece, but the Mickey/Minnie Date Night is a close second. thanks for sharing these!

    ReplyDelete
  141. You always find the best stuff! In no particular order, I love: "date night"; "Wall-E"; "Rocket to the Moon"; and "It's a Star Wars" (which would be PERFECT for friends of mine who just about to have their first baby).

Also, I want you to know that I created a Pintrest account, just so I could see ALL of the art on this board. But I don't really use it or understand how to use it, for anything other than seeing other people's pins.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I love Chris Butler's Batgirl, as well as the art nouveau Wonder Woman! PS, I'd take the Leia print from Joe Martin. :-D

    ReplyDelete
  143. Oh, my goodness! My housemate drew me in the style of Jasmine Becket-Griffith many years ago, so I love that. But the Joe Martin would be so perfect for my 5-year-old Star Wars-obsessed goddaughter! Decisions, decisions...

  150. You have such a great eye for art, or maybe we just have similar tastes. :) I would love to win "It's a Star Wars" or "Oswald in the rain"

  151. Wow, that steampunk commissioned piece is beautiful! And I totally agree that artists should consider selling prints online. The potential audience opens up immensely.

  156. I love your art round ups! I don't usually comment, but they always make me smile :)

I just moved to a new place and I don't have a lot of art on the wall yet. I would really love to hang some of the Wookie the Chew prints up-- I think my favorites are set C.

I am also a fan of the Godzilla in Love ACEO-- so tiny and cute! :)

  172. I wonder if so many artists don't sell online because they're afraid of getting a cease and desist letter for portraying copyrighted characters? It's too bad, because the art is gorgeous!

  177. I look forward to these posts. You introduce us to such talented artists!

The Stitch, Indiana Jones and The Adventure Awaits prints speak to me! I love the Leia, Godzilla and Moster prints too. So many hard choices.

  178. Omg, I don't know if I want to win, because I don't know how I would choose just one! That Wonder Woman is a-mahzing! And that Harley - my friend Kerrie would love it! Out of the four at the bottom, I like Leia and Godzilla - so cute! I have to stop using exclamation marks now!
