Watch me slide in to the last day of the month with my April Art Finds.
WHOOOOOOOSH.
Oh yeah. Smooth.
First up, the dreamy, ghostly, floaty art of Moonbound Studio:
How are these spirits so CUTE? I love the lil peeking ones in back. It's like the Knights Who Say Ni came back to haunt the forest and ask wandering magical girls for shrubberies.
The artist, Sierra, loves mythology, nature, and magic, which pretty well sums up her style:
I can't get enough of her floating ghost ladies, they're my favorite:
This Painted Lady from Avatar is pretty easy to spot, but I stared at her Elsa for a few seconds before realizing who it was. I love it when an artist puts her own spin on a character like that!
You can buy prints of Sierra's work at the Moonbound Studio online shop, and be sure to follow her on Instagram to see more.
*****
Next, an artist right here in Florida just finished painting the MOST incredible rainbow room for her kid, and I am in awe. IN AWE I SAY:
Apparently the bed is going in the closet where the hearts are! Can't wait to see it furnished.
Jessica Dunbar is the artist behind this Room of Happy, and her canvas work is just as jaw-dropping:
You can buy prints on Jessica's website, where I also found this abstract Doctor Who piece I'm loving:
Let's keep those brilliant colors going with the clay art of Alisa Lariushkina, aka LiskaFlower:
::sound of my brain 'sploding::
Alisa hand sculpts and places each tiny little squiggle and swirl to form landscapes you'll want to violently squash your face into. Unless that's just me.
You can see loads more landscapes over on Alisa's My Modern Met feature, but then be sure to follow her on Instagram to also see her jewelry pieces, what whaaaaaat:
While you're at it, bookmark her Etsy shop! Nothing is listed right now, though, because I'm sure these get snapped up fast.
*****
Next a different kind of clay creation from Little Blue Seal:
Sweet blobby marshmallow loaf!! Awwww.
Ayla the artist makes lots more than seals, though:
Candy-colored resin bats!
And her bees, ohhhh migoodness:
What's up, bumble-butt?
And finally, since I'm on a bright color kick, let me end with an artist I've been following for years and years and STILL can't get enough of, Kristin Tercek:
AKA, Cuddly Rigor Mortis.
You might recognize some of Kristin's work from the Disney parks, since she does some official pieces for them, and her style is unmistakable:
Lately she's been painting a lot of smaller pieces: happy little fuzzy blobs that give me insta-smiles:
*****
But first, you know how I'm always saying in these posts that it's so hard to pick a favorite? Welp, I'm about to pass that pain on to you. ::evil grin::
That's right, there can only be one, gang, so tell me which of the following 3 art sets you like best!
First, a stunning Star Wars droid set:
I purchased these 4x6 prints from an artist who tragically was giving up her art career, and selling off her entire stock. I don't remember her name, only that she specialized in custom wedding invitations with a geeky flair. These are truly irreplaceable prints.
Or, behind Door #2, we have some vibrant Tiki Room vibes with these two Disney Wonderground exclusive 5x7 postcard prints:
The artists are Robert Jiminez and Joey Chou.
And finally, behind Door #3, we have this Hogwarts trio of 4x6 playing card prints by Lisa Villella:
Lisa made the entire deck of Potter characters (Hagrid is a duplicate King option, because he's Lisa's favorite), and each card shows the character at the beginning of book 1 and then the end of book 7, which is absolutely heart-destroying for Hagrid. (He's carrying baby Harry on one end, and Harry post-battle on the other.) John has the largest size of this Hagrid print hanging in his game room.
So there you have it, bots, which set do you like best? Tell me in the comments, and I'll pick three of you at random to win. I'll announce the winners in my very next post, so be sure to check back in a few days!
UPDATE: The give-away has ended!
The winner of the Droid print set is Amanda (with the blog Amidala)
The winner of the Tiki print set is Hayley
Man - the droid set is awesome, and I totally needed to see what they say today. Thank you for sharing them. You always share (and giveaway) such incredible art!
ReplyDeleteAaaahhhh! How can one be truly be expected to choose?!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm given the honor of being chosen, I will humbly accept the Star Wars set. Second choice, by the slightest hair, is Harry Potter.
Now I'm off to stalk the ALL Etsy shops of the incredible artists.
Everything is so pretty (and I'm off to add some new favourites to what I follow) but that Luna Lovegood card is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat droid set is beautiful, but it’s hard to pick any favorite!
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter all the way! The others are also gorgeous, but the feel of book 1 versus book 7 is so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe Star Wars droid set!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art all around in your round up post!
Those ARE The Droods I'm Looking For!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlisa Lariushkina's art is so beautiful! It reminds me so much of quilling. But with clay instead of paper. For the giveaway - my favorite is the droid set.
ReplyDeleteThose colorful resin bats are the best! Too bad they aren't for sale on the artist's etsy shop. I love how goofy they look. ^_^
ReplyDeleteAnd I am happy to see R2 getting some much deserved love, even if via old art.
Not even a contest - those Star Wars quote cards are stunning. They are soft and bright, organic and mechanical. It's a shame the artist decided to hang up her brushes. The talent and balance is breathtaking on those.
ReplyDeleteMy 9 year old daughter has lost her mind over Harry Potter. All the 'Arry, all the time. We are on book 5, and she would love those playing cards for her birthday on May 30th! Tonight's movie night pick (Again) is Chamber of Secrets!
ReplyDeleteThe Star Wars set is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI feel a desperate need for the Disney Wonderground prints. I would also like the Painted Lady print immediately (one of my absolute favorite episodes... poor Appa...), so I'm off to investigate Moonbound Studio!!! :-D
ReplyDeleteOh good grief she has earrings... SUCH. EARRINGS. I am in lurv...

ReplyDeleteHarry Potter playing card prints! ❤️❤️🙄
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter hands down!
ReplyDeleteAnd we're stuck between doing a Trek themed nursery, a HP one, a baseball one, or somehow smushing them all together?
Jus' sayin', if you think the prints wouldn't be put to good use. :D
The droid set is gorgeous! BB-8 is my daughters favorite droid and R2 is mine, so perfect fir our house 💜
ReplyDeleteDon't make me choose. They are all so awesome.
ReplyDeleteIf you force me to choose, it would be the droids, no, the Potter cards, no, the droids, or maybe the Potter cards, or the droids,...
Those tiki prints would looks so good on my tiki shelves. My late husband and I loved all things tiki, and I will always be sad that we never got to go to the Tiki Room together (we both went as kids with our families).
ReplyDeleteStar Wars Droids!
ReplyDeleteLove your art posts!
That clay art is STUNNING!!
ReplyDeleteAll the art is cute... but The Enchanted Tiki Room is my happy place at Disney. :) I would love those.

ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for the Droids. They're all suuuuuuuper cute though!
ReplyDeleteOH MAN!!! What an impossible Choice!!! Right this minute.... Star Wars. I needed to hear/read that today. On any other day.... Harry Potter!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Those Tiki Room prints would look so cute in my classroom! I teach 9th grade ELA (it's my first year) and I am still working on decorating my classroom. It's very colorful and my students love it!
ReplyDeleteAh the Harry Potter card set! What a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteThose tiki room postcards would go wonderfully with the beachside-life sized-“window” sticker I just put in my little girls’ interior bathroom to give them a little tropical escape! (The polar bear balancing on pretty pink macaroons from penelopeloveprints, that you showcased waaaay back, already reside in that bathroom!)
ReplyDeleteI adore set #1.
ReplyDeleteThe Hogwarts trio is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love the Harry Potter prints!
ReplyDeleteI’m torn between the Droids and the HP cards...
ReplyDelete...

Let’s go with Droids!!
Ahhh! Those Harry Potter cards! *grabby hands*
ReplyDeleteTiki room all the way
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Door #1. Those are the droids I'm looking for.
ReplyDeleteThose clay landscapes are just hnnnnngh. I could stare at them for hours, but I also want to touch them very badly. They're amazing.

ReplyDeleteOh man! The harry potter prints would be amazing. I already have another deckof harry potter cards :)-Annalisa
ReplyDeleteThat droid set gives me all the feels <3
ReplyDeleteMan, you're really going to make us choose between those amazing art groupings??? All three are absolutely gorgeous and would be amazing to hang, but if I have to choose just one....it's the droids by a hair. I'm going to go check out Lisa's page though and see about snagging some Harry Potter stuff for myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet again, you shared some amazing art! My wish list on Etsy is sooo long due to your recommendations, lol!
I would love to have the harry potter.
ReplyDeleteI'm rereading the books (again & again )
Wow the droid prints are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, as always! You make me wish I had everything...umm, love the hogwarts playing cards. And I made a version of your butterfly wreath for my home, which was such a fun and doable craft. Thank you-it looks really amazing and I feel very accomplished!
ReplyDeleteOh my, those droid prints are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWow, those droid prints are amazing!
ReplyDeleteAll of them are amazing though I love HP so Harry Potter cards all the way!
ReplyDeleteUmm, the HP cards, no contest!

ReplyDeleteoh wow those Droids are beautiful. I always love your art round ups <3
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but those droid prints are my favorite...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAll these artists are so cool, can't wait to spend hours looking at their art lol. The droid prints are gorgeous but also love the hp playing cards.
ReplyDeleteWow! You always find the *best* things! All of them are so incredibly gorgeous but my true heart goes out to the playing cards - so beautiful! Thanks for sharing! <3
ReplyDeleteI really love the droid set <3
ReplyDeleteR2D2 has always been my favorite Star Wars Droid, so I would LOVE to have the Obi Wan Kenobi print!
ReplyDeleteI love the droid set too... but I didn't think everyone else would love those as much as I do. I expected the answers to be all harry potter... I think I'm too late for the give away, but I love the Force is with you always print... Not in your give away, but that rainbow room rocks!
ReplyDeleteomg... the droid set... i need that!!
ReplyDeleteOption 3 for me! But oh my gosh, everything in this post is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAll my fandoms in one giveaway and I must choose only one??? (Okay, not all my fandoms but three of them. 😂) Droids is my favorite of these.
ReplyDeleteThat clay hummingbird is...wow. Love love love.
ReplyDeleteTiki vibes for life!
They are all amazing but that Droid set is calling me! Probably even more since we're close to star wars day and all... (and my dog Chewy's gotcha day is Revenge of the 5th LOL)
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE the Disney Wonderground prints! "Go to the Tiki Room. . . Fly to the Tiki Room"
ReplyDeleteAmy LD
That Hogwarts Trio made me tear up. I always cry at the end of 7, no matter how many times I read it.
ReplyDeleteThe clay art is really lovely! It reminded me of some books by Barbara Reid, who uses that technique to illustrate them; The Subway Mouse, Fox Walked Alone, and - perhaps my favorite - Have You Seen Birds?
ReplyDeleteI love the Tiki Room set! I can never get enough of the Tiki Room style. I loved the tiki etched glasses last week.
ReplyDeleteOMG that star wars set!!!! Amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Cuddly Rigor Mortis is so adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteBut for the art giveaway, I'm going to throw my name in for the tiki set. I'm currently planning on theming a room in my next house as a tiki bar (even though we don't drink, lol), complete with Star Wars/tiki mashups, and the Jeff Granito Haunted Mansion/tiki mashup as an overlay for Halloween time. (I may have issues, lol) My Pokemon GO trainer name is even Tikigirl72. So... yeah the tiki ones :)
*scurries off to cuddly rigor mortis shop*
My favourite is the droid set. My daughter just found out she is pregnant with her first baby and these prints would be a beautiful addition for the nursery walls!
ReplyDeleteThe Harry Potter ones are blowing my mind!
ReplyDeleteLove love love and want want want the Potter playing cards!
ReplyDeleteThose clay landscapes are inspiring, since I also do polymer clay. There's some clays that have a kind of suede texture, and I'm guessing she used those to get those soft-looking clouds. I'm guessing she used an extruder to help with all those grass blades and sky swirlies. So much patience, especially to get all those subtle colors just right.
In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room...I now have that song stuck in my head again! Totally love all the art, but the Tiki is definitely my favorite! And those clay art landscapes are totally amazing! I could stare at those all day.
ReplyDeleteI love the hogwarts playing cards! so stinkin cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the droid prints so much!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jen! I've got two people in my life who each need an uplifting StarWars print! 🥰❤ - Michelle (years-long lurker)
ReplyDeleteWow!! As always, so much fun added to my IG feed with these posts. <3 Love all of the art and so grateful for your generosity with the giveaways. I'll throw in my name for the Harry Potter card art. Beautiful and I love the journey of the characters built into each design. Thanks for the opportunity to win some incredible pieces!
ReplyDeleteYou're slightly evil.
ReplyDeleteThey're all SO gorgeous this month, and I LOVE the first book vs the end.. but I've got to go with the droids. The floralyness of them just calls to me!
This roundup is superb! I love the the clay paintings. The Harry Potter set is gorgeous. The Hagrid art is devastating. I remember when you posted that one a long time ago and I would really enjoy a bit of that beautiful art.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW what an amazing lineup this month! You always find the coolest stuff!
ReplyDeleteI would love the gift the Harry Potter set to a friend who has cosplayed Luna (with the Lion hat!).
Harry Potter!!
ReplyDeleteTikibots FTW!
ReplyDeleteOh man, normally it is hard to choose, but I am all in for the Hoggy Hoggy Warty art.
ReplyDeleteThe droid set is my favorite, for sure; it gave me shivers down my spine (in the best possible way).
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy these posts, but often in a "that's cool but not for me" sort of way. But every so often, something just really speaks to me and takes my breath away, and that first Jessica Dunbar piece? Wow. If that ever becomes available as a print, it will be mine, for sure.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I love the Hogwarts cards the best. What amazing art that tells a story.
ReplyDeleteThe Harry Potter set...that one of Hagrid=instant 😭
ReplyDelete~Helen

ReplyDeleteJose, Fritz, Pierre and Michael live rent free in my head.
(I was so relieved when we finally discovered what happened to Rosita)
All three of those sets are ah-mazing! I'd pick the Star Wars one if I had my choice, then the Disney one and lastly the HP set but I couldn't be sad about any of them!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the bright colors in the art you shared. I needed that in my day. Thanks for always sharing ❤
The droid set, that's gorgeous. I love the light and colors.
ReplyDeleteI love those Harry Potter cards. So gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI love set three!! All the heart eyes.
ReplyDeleteOh man. All things I love. If I have to pick a favorite, I THINK I like the Harry Potter.
ReplyDeleteDoor #2 with the Tiki Room Vibes. I am missing Disney so much and these would be amazing in my office.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the Tiki Room, as I love Disney World art. I've got a collection of Haunted Mansion stuff going, but Tiki Room would be my next choice.
ReplyDeleteAlways anything tiki!
ReplyDeleteI love the droids, but Luna. Always Luna.
ReplyDeleteThe HP set is awesome!
ReplyDeleteDecisions decisions.... but Harry Potter by a small nose :)
ReplyDeleteThose Star Wars ones are awesome! They'd go great in my geeky, grandma chic living room
ReplyDeleteThe Star Wars droid set is so beautiful! I want them in a larger size and to hang them in my dining room so we start and end our days with them. :) They're my favorite for sure. Though the book 1/7 cards are brilliant too. I want the whole set! They would be amazing framed or as some sort of banner/garland
ReplyDeleteI'm a recent Harry Potter convert that has turned into an obsession (there are worse things, right??). I NEED the Harry Potter cards!
ReplyDelete
