Steampunk Disney Princesses

Leah F. used that Mega Steampunk Dress-Up Game I featured a few weeks back to 'punkify all the Disney princesses and heroines, and let me tell you: her results are sooo coooool.

Here, see if you can name them all:

(If you get stuck, note that two of the princesses are repeated.)

These are perfect for anyone looking for cosplay inspiration! In fact, now I'm tempted to go back and try creating some Disney Villain-inspired looks. Dang it, Leah, how am I supposed to get anything done today now?

PS - Just realized there's no Merida in there - and considering the kerfuffle going on over her official Disney makeover, I'm thinking someone should remedy that. (Show 'em how it's done, girls!) Plus I'm sure there are plenty more characters out there that would be fun to try. Be sure to share your versions over on the Epbot FB page if you do, though, so I can see!

  1. These are great! I think both Snow Whites and the version of Belle in her blue dress are my favorites.

The Merida thing is digusting. I think the new version is creepy, not prettier. I loved Merida's character in Brave - it was nice to see a Disney heroine who wasn't so...vapid.

  2. Not crazy about the Ariel one, but the others are AWESOME, especially the blue Belle. Will have to go make another Ariel. Now.

  3. I can name all princesses except for the one with the wings and eyepatch..!

Anyway, these are AMAZING! My favourites are Mulan and the 'spunky' Snow White.

    1. SPOILER!!!

Click the image, and it will say the princess' name in the addres-bar :)

    2. Yeah, they're not actually all princesses. I think that's possibly why it's confusing. Alice and Meg aren't part of the official line of Disney Princesses. I'm guessing that the winged, eye-patched girl is meant to be Tinker Bell. :)

    3. Oooooh! Now that I know who she is, it's so obvious.

Then again I thought Ariel was supposed to be Esmeralda until I realised she had red hair..

  4. I want the snow white outfit - the second one. They're all gorgeous though.
No Kida from Atlantis though? Or did I miss one?

  5. I think the one with the wings is supposed to be Tinker Bell... but I can't identify the blonde one with the long purple scarf.

  6. These are fantastic! I want so many of those outfits now. I'm impressed with how recognisable Leah F. managed to make them. I didn't figure out Ariel until I read the comments though.

  7. I would love to have Belle's yellow dress... not that I have anywhere to wear it, but it's just so awesome. I'd probably just hang out in it at home, playing "Be Our Guest" at maximum volume while vacuuming in a corset and hoop skirt.

    1. I love the idea of vacuuming in a corset and hoop skirt. Imagine how much you would knock over and how light headed you will feel. And all the sweating ! I think I have a new rule, if the house isn't clean enough for my hoop skirt to pass through then you all need to get a working!

  8. I just showed my four year old daughter the before and after pictures of Merida. I asked her, "Which one is Merida?" and she correctly identified the original version. I then asked her who the other one was and she replied, "You don't know? She's the toy. They don't have the right eyes. It's crazy." Sure enough, she zoomed right in on one of the "sexy feature" changes that is so disheartening. I hope Disney rethinks this plan...

  10. I think "blue Belle" is Cinderella. And the one with the wings would be Tinkerbell, yes?

  11. I just wish they could do one of Esmerelda- she is by far my favorite Disney female, even though she isn't a 'princess'.

  12. Still stuck on the one with the long purple scarf and the cat/ferret? Love the second snow white!

    1. The link says that it's Aurora. I think it's from her woodland outfit, when she's in hiding with the fairies, before she goes back to the castle and pricks her finger.

    2. Aurora/Briar Rose/Sleeping Beauty :)

    3. The one with the scarf and animals is Aurora from Sleeping Beauty :)

    4. Aurora (sleeping beauty) :)

    5. It's Briar Rose, Princess Aurora's undercover alter ego in Sleeping Beauty :) I knew all of them straight away except for Ariel and Tinker Bell.

    6. She might be princess Aurora, from Sleeping Beauty.

    7. I think that one is Aurora. And now I have to try and get an outfit like the second snow white. Anyone know how to sew?

  13. Whoa. I did the exact same thing on Tuesday night when I couldn't sleep. (Of course, mine look very different from hers, but they were all done on the same dollmaker.)

  14. Took me the longest time to get Ariel. The one with the scarf is Aurora, pre pink/blue dress

  15. Purple scarf princess is Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, wearing what she wore living in the forrest.

  16. I though that Ariel, as pictured here, was actually Esmerelda, from Hunchback of Notre Dame - and a perfect Esmerelda!.

  17. I LOVE the one of Belle in her blue dress (the one with the hat. And though Tinkerbell has never been my favorite Disney character, I love this version.

  22. I didn't get the blue Belle until I saw the note about two princesses being repeated. And I totally thought that Ariel was Esmerelda too--glad I'm not alone in that! These are great.

  23. Very nicely done and yes these will certain inspire some costuming ideas. :)

Personally, I don't think the Merida redesign is that bad. It's an artistic rendering for one product line. Not the new standard for the character. And when compared to other lines out there (Barbie, Monster High, Bratz) it's not that sexy looking either. Yet I'm also 35 and don't have children to worry about.
