MegaCon 2014, Part 4

I reeeeally thought I could cram the rest of my MegaCon cosplay pics into this post, but alas, I CANNOT. It's 3AM as I type this, and I'm throwing in the towel for now. Sorry/congratulations, guys, depending on how you feel about my cosplay posts. :D

Onward!

An AMAZING Tiny Tina from Borderlands 2. Even her hair is outlined in the signature sketch style of the game!

Thor and Lady Loki:

Plus a great Oogie Boogie.

Lemongrab of Adventure Time:

And a super sweet Princess Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph. Love that dress!

Just when you think you've seen every mashup costume possible, you see a Jem Ghostbuster:

AND LIFE IS GOOD.
(Or should I say "truly outrageous?")

Just so you know, if I see a girl wearing Disney shopping bags as a dress, I am going to take her picture:

And gender-bent Gaston there looks especially good at exPECtor-aaaating!!
(Oh what a gal... GAS-TOOOON!!)

Ahem.

Speaking of gender-bending, I saw two Disney princesses wearing their prince's clothes at the con. It was awesome. And you get to seem them NEXT post. (sorry.)

As a die-hard Skyrim addict, John went all fanboy on this Daedric armor guy:

His eyes were usually lit up red - maybe the batteries died here?

John also demanded - DEMANDED - that I take this guy's picture:

I was mystified until John showed me pictures of Dee from Twisted Sister.
(I love 80s music, but I don't know what ANY of the bands look like. Ha!)

Definitely saw a lot more kids on Sunday. Here's a fantabulous kid-sized Cyberman:

Plus an adorable Pinkie Pie, showing off her curly tail.

Next to that Cyberman we stumbled across this chilling scene:

And by "chilling" I mean "SO TOTALLY AWESOME."

Also awesome? This steampunked Ariel:

Lots of great details here, from the rusty patina on her trident to the beaded "fins" on her arm bracers. Plus that mermaid skirt is gorgeous.

As promised, here's the Pink Decepticon from my last post in her Sunday outfit:

I just learned today she goes by DefenzMechanizm, and is a well-known artist/performer and cosplayer. "Fabulous, Harry, I love the feathers."

And finally, this little girl was a real party Animal:

I asked her to take off the head so you guys could see that big beautiful smile. THAT is the face of a happy cosplayer, my friends!

Hope you guys are happy too today! 'Til next time!

  1. I'm totally digging that mini cyberman and the terrifying weeping angel (I have a feeling that the small ones are faster and can sneak up more easily--chills). I know nothing about Skyrim, but I am super impressed by that armor and all its detail.

  3. Thanks for posting today! I went to a Comic Con on Saturday, and apparently picked up a little bit of Con Crud. This post brightened my dark, wheezy, achy, day.

    2. I choose to believe that whenever River wasn't with the Doctor she went by the name Frizzle had a school bus TARDIS.

  5. So when I saw that you are going to do yet another cosplay post, I thought I couldn't get any happier, then I came to the picture of the chilling SO TOTALLY AWESOME Doctor Who scene. Thank you for making my day!

  8. There are no worries. I love checking out the pics!!!

  9. That is definitely Miss Frizzle with the Doctors and the weeping angel. Awesome. My college-aged daughter, when watching Cosmos with my husband and I during spring break a couple weeks ago, said, "This is really just Magic School Bus for grown ups, isn't it?" It really is an accurate description.

  15. Not only are 10 and 11 on the ground, 4, 5, and 9 are standing behind the angel. :D

I agree, I will be dreaming about tiny Cybermen and Weeping Angels, and be scared to find an angel in "scary mode" when I open my bedroom door tomorrow morning.

  17. I love the Con Pics! In fact, in the last 2 weeks I have read the entire archives of your blog (I'm recovering from a nephrectomy, distraction is great). I enjoyed the Con pictures so much that I did some digging and am planning to go to Con over Halloween weekend! I've even got 2 friends on board, working on 2 more...and we have some EPIC cosplay planned.

  24. And thanks to you Jen, I'll be heading over to the Charlotte Comic-Con this weekend wearing a Tom Servo shirt! It will be my first Convention ever. I've been soooo busy with school that I haven't had time to make anything special, but I love MST3K, so hopefully people will like it. Thanks for making cosplay and being a nerd look fun! :D

  26. I genuinely LOVE your cosplay photos! Its better than being there sometimes! I would have had to fight that crazy traffic to be at this con and my panic attack disorder would have NONE of that! So your photos let me see soe of my absolute favorite bits of the con without ever having to have a meltdown. THANK YOU!!!
