How about Boon, after the night fairy from Brian Froud's book? I was walking home from work one summer and saw a tiny tuxedo kitteh in the middle of the road, in danger of being run over. I yelled “Kitten!” and clicked my tongue, and she immediately ran over to me and tried to climb up my leg.

She was so clean and so friendly that I was SURE she belonged to someone and had just gotten out by accident. I walked around the neighbourhood asking people if they knew who owned her, and no one did (the guy who runs the corner bodega said he thought he’d seen her wandering around the neighbourhood before). This whole time I was practically carrying her by her HEAD - it was 90+ degree weather and I was also carrying a TON of heavy bags. And she never stopped purring the entire time.

I finally just brought her home. When I opened the door, I just held her up to my partner and said, “Brannon, we have a problem.”

OF COURSE she became one of our cats. Now, even though *I* was the one to rescue her, she is incredibly attached to my partner. (She loves to try to sit on top of his controllers when he’s gaming, which annoys him to no end - and has a habit of sleeping ON HIS HEAD.) But yeah, sometimes cats “find” you. And, of the three cats we currently have, Ligeia-kitteh is the friendliest when we have people visit.

I agree with everyone’s suggestions about names! I’ve named all my cats after Edgar Allan Poe characters (Lenore - RIP, Annabel Lee, Ligeia, and Berenice). My other two kittehs are black cats and Ligeia-kitteh, despite being a tuxedo cat, looks (as my mom said) like a black cat that “walked through a dish of milk” - she’s got white paws, a white tummy, and a *tiny* bit of white on her nose. I also know that it’s tough to find homes for black cats. To me, your kitteh looks like she might be part Siamese - Siamese cats are the most likely to have litters with black kittehs when they mate with any other breed of cat. (That’s how my partner got our first cat, Lenore-kitteh. One of his neighbours owned a show quality Blue-Point Siamese and one night a tomcat jumped their fence. The neighbours didn’t want to keep the litter, so they gave the kittehs away. And Brannon landed up with a tiny black kitteh who used to, literally, snuggle under the covers with me and paw at my face when I wasn’t being “snuggly” enough or paying enough attention to her.)
Jaimehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04295823449665683014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1724594058209899258.post-54039343175545116142018-04-29T22:42:50.098-04:002018-04-29T22:42:50.098-04:00Luna Lovegood. But when our vet asked us if we'd consider taking in these two stranded kittens we just went to see them . . . and 13 years later, they're still with us. So whatever you decide to do, I know you two will make the right decision. The perfect name will occur to you once you get to know Kitten's personality a bit more.
