Then I remembered (LIGHT bulb!)you had posted this. so I'll be off to buy boatloads of saran wrap tomorrow. My husband will be so happy to have this puppy out of the house before the 4th of July! And before all of the little thistles fall onto the carpet and go through our cats' digestive tract. Their poop won't be as festive, but it's a small price to pay. It was miserable, hilarious work.

Finally I say, "There's this tutorial online with cling wrap . . ."

My mother springs into the mix, armed with cling wrap. There is only the large bottom recalcitrant section left, but it takes all three adults to wrestle it into some kind of submission. They refuse to look at the tutorial and instead have me read it aloud to them while they beat down bristles. I have to cut out all the witty banter and cute Lily parts because they are so be-wildered.

"Look at the photo," says I. "Keep going, you need more wrap," says I. "Jen says at least four or five layers," says I.

I think they went around twice. They hustled the tree back into the attic, and then said, "It didn't work so well. It needed more wrap."

My dad, who didn't do anything, thinks this is a GREAT idea. I concur. Anyhow, it must be better than trying to strap it down with bungee cords, an attempt I should have videoed.Haiku Joynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1724594058209899258.post-51266417779870573092015-01-05T16:01:50.065-05:002015-01-05T16:01:50.065-05:00Great minds think alike!!! Then I stumbled upon your method. We just gave it a whirl and are loving how compact it is! I will say that this is definitely a two person job though, our tree is only a four footer, but there is no way I could have wrangled those unwieldy branches on my own. Granted, it probably only gets up to maybe 110 in there - not quite as hot as an attic - but I can't imagine additional heat causing any trouble at all.
