There are definitely some perks to living in Orlando, and that night was pretty much all of them.
Anyhoo, that medication switch I mentioned last time has been kicking my butt since; when I wasn't panicking I was passed out on the couch. So I stopped taking the new stuff (boo), and now I'm human enough to do fun things again - and yes, also work things, but I'll get to those later, John.
For now, pretty photos!
Keep scrolling for the promised video of this; it is SO COOL.
My one Disney shot:
This was taken early last week, so I was happy to see the castle's icy lights still up.
Now back to Diagon Alley:
Leaky Cauldron has the world's best fish & chips - and that's coming from someone who doesn't even LIKE fish & chips that much. Definitely try those or Toad In The Hole, my favorite. (But pass on the new Butterbeer Potted Cream; it's basically thick pudding, and kinda meh.)
For dessert you're better off going to Florean Fortescue's for ice cream. I recommend the Clotted Cream & Sticky Toffee Pudding combo. Or the Butterbeer soft serve.
Dang I'm hungry.
The impossible-to-photograph mermaid skeleton in Knockturn Alley:
Even harder to capture is the Weasley's shop; it's impossibly cramped, always crowded, and filled with so many dizzying angles it's hard to know where to aim your camera. Thanks to my wide angle lens, though, I think I *finally* got one:
See the fireworks in the skylight window?
And a less successful attempt from the bottom of the stairs:
This is my 3rd attempt, but I just can't seem to get the color balance right. All those oranges and reds! GRRR. Any of you photographers out there have advice?
My shot of the Owl Tower caught an interesting lens flare:
Universal's fireworks started just as we were leaving the Alley, and the angle made it look like these buildings were exploding:
Btw, since I have food on the brain: there's a drink counter in this square, dead ahead, and the Fizzy Orange is amazing. It's a surprisingly quenching vanilla orange drink, but the edge of the cup is crusted with cinnamon sugar, and oohhhh man. So good.
And finally, that amazing Dragon video John captured on his iPhone:
Isn't it beautiful? I love how it has that blue fade in and fade out at the end. Just stunning.
Sorry to be "just" posting so many pictures lately, but I think I'm finally back on track now, so look for more crafts, art, and reviews, coming soon!
